Paul LaManes, WMS General Manager

Hello, my name is Paul LaManes and I am fortunate to serve as the General Manager for Wyandotte Municipal Services (WMS). I have been employed with WMS for just over seven years, starting as the Assistant General Manager and becoming General Manager in August 2018. My professional background is primarily finance having graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in December 1988, and I have been a CPA in the State of Michigan since 1991.

At home, I have a wife (Marie) and two children (Josh – 23, Adrianna – 13). My primary activities at home include following and attending University of Michigan football, basketball and hockey, traveling, and working in my yard and around the house.

On an average day in the office, I find that the term “General” in my job title certainly applies, as I find myself with a wide variety of responsibilities that many other companies may have individual specialists perform. A day may include dealing with operational concerns, customer relationship/inquiries, Elected/Appointed Official questions, power supply matters, infrastructure, budgeting, employee benefits planning, financial planning, accounting/audit issues, legal topics, regulatory compliance, employee questions, contract negotiations, rate structuring, and many others too numerous to list which span all three Wyandotte Utilities. However, WMS is privileged to have an outstanding management staff of Department Superintendents and Supervisors along with a great group of employees that make it all work for our residents and customers.
