CFL Advantage

CFL stands for "compact fluorescent lamp", and WMS wants all households to convert their old incandescent light bulbs to CFLs. There are many great advantages to CFLs compared to traditional incandescent bulbs:

CFLs use about ¼ of the energy
CFLs last up to 10 times longer, which means you don’t have to change them as often
CFLs save about $40 in total costs over the lifetime of each bulb
CFLs produce about 75 percent less heat, so they’re safer to operate and can cut energy costs associated with home cooling
